Role

Shanghai.monks, the Shanghai office of global creative company media.monks, is looking for a Creative Technologist. As our creative technologist you champion technology at the intersection where digital meets physical. In this position, you conceptualize, prototype and deliver creative applications of technologies in our digital and experiential projects.

Role & Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, prototype and deliver creative applications of technologies in our digital and experiential projects.

• Lead creative on digital, experiential, gaming, XR and other exciting projects

• Bridging the gap between our clients, our creatives and our developers by speaking the language of all 3

• You’ll visit clients to pitch for projects, participate in workshops, and woo people with your combination of creative thinking and technical know-how.

• You’ll help win new projects by developing creative treatments in response to client briefs and RFPs, developing creative solutions that are exciting and in keeping with the project’s goals, timings and budget.

• The role involves a lot of tinkering, tweaking and testing; doing original R&D and playing around with new technologies and APIs, and creating original prototypes that work as a proof of concept.

• By figuring out the required technology and technical requirements, you usher creative projects to the development stage, liaising between creative and technical teams to make sure new projects work as advertised.

• On another level, you help to think and plan for the future, feeling the pulse of the AR and VR field to figure out what platforms and technologies we should invest in to stay on top of the game.

Requirements

• You have worked at least 5-10 years in roles that bridge creative and technology in the field of interactive/experiential/digital agencies or production companies.

• You have a portfolio of boundary pushing work

• Bi-lingual in English and Chinese is a big plus

• Already based in Shanghai
