气候变化、通货膨胀、战争、社会分裂和不平等，这些紧迫的问题影响着我们的未来。然而，受这些未来结果影响最大的人，“孩子们”的声音、意见和愿望，总是被忽视，不受重视。
德国超市Penny致力于探讨社会议题，并为经常被忽视的人发声。继2021年《愿望》(the Wish)和2022年《裂痕》(the Rift)之后，Penny今年圣诞通过《孩子们》(the Kids)短片来倾听儿童和年轻人的需求和愿望。
短片先是描述了孩子们在日常生活中遭遇的困境：女孩上芭蕾舞课的伤痛，男孩未经询问被迫接受社交媒体的审视，社交媒体带来的外貌焦虑和羞辱，父母对孩子的忽视等等。
接着由儿童合唱团演唱的歌曲 What about us 将剧情推向反转，孩子们勇敢表达了他们的要求和愿望：女孩在舞台上自由舞蹈，男孩将妈妈的手机扔进大海，露天海报上的模特被画上肚腩，并写下“Love your body”......最后孩子们一个个奔跑、聚集、举起手来，表示“未来是我们的，请听听我们的声音！”
短片中描述的困境来源于Penny自2015年开始的“Förderpenny”倡议，100多个青年俱乐部和社会组织参与了该活动，并询问了儿童和年轻人对未来的希望。片末也列举了孩子们对大人、对父母的期望：“多笑笑”、“我们想要有足够多的老师”、“在手机上少花点时间”......
