近些年来,湄公河水污染问题非常严重。
为改善这一状况,韩国著名财团韩华集团于2019年6月5日(世界环境日),在越南永隆(Vinh Long)举办了“清理湄公河”运动,并捐赠了两艘价值25亿越盾的太阳能船。
这两艘太阳能船可通过传送带快速打捞起漂浮在湄公河水面的垃圾,避免它们流入海洋造成更严重的危害。并且,该船安装了太阳能电池板,运作时不会排放有害物质造成二次污染,同时声音小,清理过程中不会惊扰到周边的野生动物。
除此以外,韩华集团还组织了一大批大学生志愿者,沿河捡拾垃圾。
这项活动是在全球绿色增长研究所(GGGI)的支持下进行的,旨在支持联合国可持续发展目标,为应对气候变化以及一系列环境问题做贡献。同时,它也影响了当地居民,为保护湄公河付出行动。
