OVERVIEW

Manager Technology drives the translation and construction of a client's business problems into innovative technology solutions by creating and owning the technical vision of the project and ensuring that the vision is achieved with a high level of quality.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture & Design

§  Responsible for design and architecture of the project and works with design team and Clients to create the needed artifacts

§  Create the non-functional requirements based on the business needs

§  Choose the needed technology stack based on the functional, non-functional requirements and based on other factors like client drivers, environment and feasibility

§  For package implementations, perform the gap analysis between business requirements and the package features and design the configuration, customizations, extensions, interfaces required to meet the requirements

§  Identify and design dependencies with other systems in the enterprise

Development & Support

§  Responsible for consistency, high quality and adherence to applicable Sapient and/or client standards in solution delivery

§  Establish steps of doneness for various types of activities that are done during EAR, Development and Maintenance phases of a project.

§  For package implementations, help create best practices/approaches to be leveraged by the team.

§  Drive setup of the different environment (development, test stage etc)

§  Responsible for ensuring that technical solution meets performance, reliability and other “ility” requirements

§  Troubleshoot complex technical issues on projects

Planning Tracking & Estimation

§  Works with the Project Manager to create the estimate and plans for the projects and decompose them among the various tracks

§  Can actively identify, manage, quantify and escalate risks to various internal and external stakeholders

§  Partners with Project Manager and clients to establish Scope Management Process

Client Management

§  Represent the organization in customer-facing communication pertinent to Sapient’s technical expertise on the specific platform

§  Interact with multiple clients (client senior developers and architects) to create technology specifications from the business issues/requirements at an application level

§  Identify choices and tradeoffs involved in designing and implementing a solution and communicates them to the client

§  Raise and drive resolution for all technical design and implementation issues in the module with the client

Adherence to Processes

§  Work with the Project Manager and the Track leads to manage the process compliance and monitor the quality of work

§  Provide mentoring on best practices to teams

Team Management

§  Manage along with a Project manager a small to medium sized team and resolve issues and dependencies in the team.

§  Review the key objectives of projects and clarify the linkage of tasks to the overall objectives

§  Responsible for performance assessment and working with the team for creating growth plans

REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

§  Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

§  Minimum 8-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience

§  Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively client accounts and multi-track Sapient teams

§  Proven mentoring and coaching abilities to ensure effective growth plans of technology members of Sapient teams

§  Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to cross-industry, complex issues

§  Ability to drive complex estimates that take one or more projects into account and to effectively communicate risks and dependencies to client

§  Experience in: Integration and development, Package implementation, Interactive Design

Knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to): J2EE, CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, PL/SQL
