Summary:
As a reliable partner to the management team, the Strategy Director is leading the strategy team in Shanghai office and acting as a brain for business strategy, communication and creative strategy for both client and the company. To be stationed in one of the biggest offices and markets in the global network, you are representing China market to connect with strategist around the global offices and to be the influential force of global strategy.
Key Objectives of Role:
Building and leading planners in developing strategically grounded marketing plans and providing key market insights and ideas for clients
To facilitate and develop overall marketing strategy for clients as well cross-function alignment between social, digital, CRM, retail, etc.
To leverage global strategy in local activations.
Responsibilities:
Ensure our planning is strategically led, considering consumer insight, business insight and coming up with big ideas to deliver value for our client.
Lead a team to deliver integrated planning across all touchpoints in line with our approach.
Provides Account and Creative Team with strategic direction on all projects.
Actively builds the reputation of the strategic consulting capability through the development of superior strategic solutions
Supports knowledge sharing activities with Account team and other offices.
Provides clients with breakthrough strategic solutions in the area of branding
Acts as the knowledge leader
Demonstrates an integrated approach to strategy which gets commitment from all relevant stakeholders.
Manage the team day-to-day acting as a mentor to junior employees. Conduct annual and interim appraisals of team members in a thorough and professional manner.
Prioritise tasks and appropriately delegate to individual members of the team, ensuring they are given adequate time, resource and are sufficiently trained to execute the tasks.
Agree a realistic timeframe for delivery of work with the client and revisit if necessary.
Qualifications:
8+ years related experience (agency experience strongly preferred)
Sound knowledge of automotive industry (experience with automotive clients strongly preferred)
Strong presentation skill
Strong oral and written communications skills
Team leader
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently
Displays a high level of strategic problem solving skill and lateral thinking.
Bilingual (Chinese and English)
