【Role】 

Monks is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Strategy Director in China to provide consultancy across different brand teams regarding digital/social marketing solutions. The ideal candidate needs to have up-to-date knowledge of social strategy, communication planning, and performance marketing, combined with a strong grasp of Chinese platform best practices (RED, Douyin, Wechat, etc) and data-driven decision-making.  He or she needs to  be instrumental in shaping our clients' social presence and achieving their business objectives. This is a senior role that requires the candidate to have a strong point of view and to build thought leadership in both Monks and externally. 

 【Responsibilities】 

- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business goals, target audiences, and marketing objectives. 

- Formulate comprehensive social media strategies and approaches that align with client objectives and deliver measurable results. 

- Define clear communication pillars, key topics, and engaging content angles tailored to specific platforms and target audiences. 

- Oversee the development of creative briefs and collaborate with content creation teams to ensure strategic alignment. 

- Implement effective phasing strategies for campaigns and ongoing social media activities. Develop roll-out plans, channel strategies, and content calendars. 

- Create execution plans with timelines, responsibilities, and resource allocation. 

- Lead the creation of platform-specific playbooks for Douyin and RED, incorporating best practices, content formats, and engagement tactics unique to each platform. 

- Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving algorithms, trends, and user behavior on Douyin and RED. 

- Develop and manage paid social media strategies across various platforms, with a strong understanding of optimization for performance. 

- Analyze social media data and generate insightful performance reports, identifying key trends, successes, and areas for improvement. 

- Maintain a strong understanding of the latest social media marketing trends, tools, technologies, and industry best practices. 

- Share knowledge and insights with internal teams and contribute to the agency's thought leadership. 

 【Requirements】 

- 6-8+ years of social strategy experience, preferably within a digital/social media agency. Supplementary experience in a media agency background will be an advantage. 

- In-depth knowledge of social media platform best practices and tactics, with a strong focus on Douyin and RED, and proven ability to develop and execute successful social media strategies that drive tangible results. 

- Ability to synthesize data drawn from both quantitative and qualitative methods, and use both approaches to formulate strategies, validate hypotheses, and produce high quality, unique insights. 

- Exceptional analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills with ability to link insights to strategy and translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive communications 

- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 

 - Embrace working in a fast paced continually evolving environment. 

- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred. 

- Passion for social media and a keen understanding of the evolving digital landscape.
